Chicago Criminal Defense Attorney Michael J. Petro Asks Court to Find Unconstitutional Unlawful Possession of a Firearm By a Street Gang Member Statute

 

On July 21, 2011, Chicago Criminal Defense Attorney Michael J. Petro asked a Chicago Judge to find unconstitutional on First Amendment grounds the Illinois Unlawful Possession of a Firearm By a Street Gang Member Statute.  720 ILCS 5/24-1.8 (a)(1). The case has been continued for the State of Illinois to respond.
